International Gastronomic Week at the Dunarea de Jos University
It’s an event usually taking place in the last week of January. Foreign students who learn Romanian during the Romanian Language Preparatory Year program for foreign students cook for their classmates traditional dishes specific to the areas they come from. The week ends with traditional Romanian food prepared by the teachers involved in the teaching activities from the preparatory year. The event contributes to the good integration of students in the Romanian cultural and linguistic environment, while also having a positive effect on the degree of tolerance and cooperation between students.

Beyond acquiring and practicing the Romanian language, the event, organized in May, aims to create the opportunity for foreign students to work with specific terms and terminologies specific to each selected field. Students are invited to present presentations and, depending on the specialization concerned, the presentations are of the most varied covering topics specific to the fields of medicine, engineering, chemistry, economics, letters and law.
